Salamanca – Zamora

This is a comfortable stage that is situated at the halfway point of this route. From Calzada de Valdunciel to El Cubo de la Tierra y el Vino it is important to bear in mind that there is no intermediate village, so it is advisable to take supplies in case you need them.

Until reaching Zamora, the route is easy, and although it is downhill, there are a few switchbacks to negotiate.

At this stage you will come across the milestones, a cylindrical, oval or parallelepiped column that was placed on the edge of Roman roads to mark the distances every mil passus (Roman double pass), i.e. every Roman mile, which is equivalent to a distance of approximately 1480 metres.
